Helen Peng is a registered lawyer in P. R. China, Partner of Grandall Legal Group (Guangzhou). She received her Bachelor of Law at Xiamen University, with a major in International Economic Law. She began her practice in 1995.
Ms. Peng has extensive experience in general commercial law, specializing in company law, M&A, transnational investment and sales, infrastructure and securities. She previously served as legal counsel in two American law firms where she advised foreign companies such as Whirlpool, Warner Lambert, Shimizu, General Motors, Epson, Corus, LG, Mafco, and successfully represented them in a number of cross-border transactions and dispute settlements. During her practice in a leading local law firm, while continuing her emphasis in international practice, she also accumulated rich experience in the areas of M&A, company restructuring, infrastructure and securities.
Among the above practices, she has a particular focus on foreign investment, including design of investment vehicle, partnering and company structure, M&A, counseling on related foreign investment rules and policies in China, and also in dispute settlement and company dissolution and liquidation.
Her clientele includes multinationals, governmental organs, some of China’s largest state-owned enterprises, as well as technological SMEs.
Ms. Peng was invited as speaker at the 3rd Sino-American Law Seminar, and the 26th and 27th “Annual Current Developments in Bankruptcy & Reorganization” of Practicing Law Institute in the U.S. She was voted as one of Asia’s Leading Business Lawyers by the 2005 Asialaw Leading Lawyers Survey.
Ms. Peng is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), and proficient in English.
